The assignment

Generate publicity for the awards of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences (KNAW) and their winners. De Wolven has been doing this since 2009 for the Education Prize, the Merian Prize and the KNAW’s Heineken Young Scientist Awards.

Our role

  • Giving media training to the winning scientists on how to tell their tale to laymen and how to explain their research to journalists.
  • We select the most mediagenic submissions for the Education Prize and pitch them to national, regional and local media according to their relevance for the respective outlets.

The result

Attention from national media (NOS TV, the national newspapers; de Telegraaf, NRC Next, de Volkskrant, and the current affairs programme; Een Vandaag), targeted youth media (Zapp, and regional media (RTV Drenthe, and the regional newspapers; AD Haagsche Courant, Gooi- en Eemlander).
