The Week of the Circular Economy 2018

The question
During this week, the circular economy is buzzing: over 40 circular frontrunners, from carpet makers to banks, open their doors. The goal? To inspire others to get started with circular entrepreneurship. In other words: no linear economy, but a system in which products and raw materials are reused as much as possible. It is up to De Wolven to generate publicity for the third Circular Economy Week and to help organizers do their own PR.

Our actions

  • Produced a comprehensive toolkit of tips and tricks around publicity, which served as a handbook for anyone organizing an event during Circular Economy Week;
  • Conducted public relations workshops where organizers learned how to generate publicity around their own event;
  • Generating publicity around the Week and the first Circular Award, which marked the start of the Week;
  • Organizing their own event during the Week: an inspiration session on circular successes in the media.

The results
No less than 434 different publications in various media, from national to regional. With a total reach of more than 16 million views and an ad value of over €420,000, the media attention was enormous. National print publications in, among others, FD, Trouw, Volkskrant and NRC Next. Online publications on the websites of Nu.nl, Het Parool, Telegraaf, NRC, RTL Z, RTL Nieuws, BNN Vara, AD, HP de Tijd, Duurzaam Bedrijfsleven and Duurzaam Nieuws, among others.
