Kvik puts Danish designer kitchens in new recycled look

Kitchen manufacturer sets sustainable course to be fully climate neutral by 2022
This spring, Danish kitchen manufacturer Kvik is introducing its timeless kitchen designs Mano and Tinta in a new sustainable look and in a brand new stylish dark gray color. The kitchens use recycled PET film and certified wood from sustainable forest management. But not only the Mano and Tinta are being taken in hand by Kvik. From now on, Kvik will only use recycled PET bottles for the protective film layer around all its kitchen cabinets. Sustainable and as many recycled materials as possible are used in the production of new kitchens. These steps should contribute to Kvik’s greater ambition to be completely CO2 neutral by 2022. In doing so, the kitchen manufacturer is taking great strides towards making the kitchen industry more sustainable.
Well thought-out solutions should not only be timeless and functional, according to Claus Johnsen, head of design at Kvik, but also take future generations into account. ‘We want to make environmentally conscious choices when it comes to our energy consumption, mode of transport and choice of materials. For example, next year we want to use some 10.5 million plastic bottles that would otherwise just be waste. Not only do we want to make the new kitchen designs more sustainable, but also the kitchens we already have in our range. Hopefully with this we will set an inspiring standard for the rest of the industry.’
MANO – classic Danish design
The Mano kitchen has been Kvik’s best-selling kitchen for more than twenty years. This kitchen is the prototype of Danish design at its best, combining simplicity, clean lines and organic materials. Previously available in black and white, Mano will also be available in luxurious dark gray from March 2021. All three kitchens are made of certified wood, the cabinet foils of the gray and white variant are made of recycled PET bottles and the black variant of oak veneer.
TINTA – the minimalist look
Not only the production method of the Tinta kitchen is beautiful and greener than ever. The kitchen is also sleek, modern and elegant on the outside. The design of Tinta gives a sense of harmony and tranquility. The kitchen is available this spring not only in white, but also in dark gray. The special thing about the Tinta is that the lines between the drawers can be adjusted in ten different colors. You choose which lines to emphasize in your kitchen. This way you can create your own personal Tinta kitchen. Maintain a calm appearance or break through the harmony, the choice is yours.
