ASN Bank brings The Wolves on board

Amsterdam-based PR and communications agency boosts current campaign with publicity
ASN Bank has entered into a partnership with De Wolven to generate media attention for their current climate campaign. The aim of this campaign is to claim the position of the Netherlands’ leading climate bank.
Monique Messelink, Communication Manager of ASN Bank: “We chose De Wolven because of their sustainable profile and their knowledge of the media landscape. We look forward to a great partnership, in which we will continue to build on ASN Bank’s recognition as the climate bank of the Netherlands.”
Eva Wolf, co-owner De Wolven: “ASN Bank is truly a dream customer for us and fits perfectly into our portfolio where more and more sustainable organizations find a place. In addition, the climate is a hot topic and you can make an enormous contribution to it with sustainable banking. Many people just haven’t realized it yet. We want to contribute to a mind shift.”
Ongoing campaign
At the end of 2017, the climate bank campaign, developed by advertising agency Selmore, started on radio, TV and online. In this campaign, different fantasy animals play the leading role, such as the Common Animal, the One-Day Fly and the Earth Bumblebee. Each animal is explained in its own way that they should contact ASN Bank if they want their money to contribute to a better climate. With this campaign, the bank wants to appeal to a new, younger target group.
Positioning
ASN Bank’s positioning as a climate bank is a logical step. ASN Bank decided four years ago that all investments must be net climate-neutral by 2030. This means that all the financing and investments of ASN Bank and the ASN Investment Funds together will not have a negative impact on the climate. It has since achieved 75.5% of its target of becoming net climate neutral. In January 2018, the bank announced that it had adjusted its target to become climate-positive by 2030. In doing so, the bank intends to once again take the lead in stimulating sustainable progress.
