De Wolven at work for the Heineken Prizes

This year, communication and PR agency De Wolven was brought in to generate attention around the ten national and international winners of the Heineken Prizes 2020. The agency developed a communication and social media campaign to give the laureates a face and to put the Heineken Prizes more on the map. This year, due to restrictions surrounding the coronavirus, the award ceremony will be broadcast online. This makes the ceremony accessible to a broad, international audience for the first time.
Doors opened
To generate more awareness around the Heineken Prizes, De Wolven has developed a broad campaign to show to whom the prizes have been presented this year, as well as in previous years. Indeed, historically, the prizes are important indicators of Nobel Prize winners and involve scientists and artists who have made many important discoveries and new insights in the fields of science and art. Through a social media campaign, free publicity and now an online ceremony, The Wolves is showcasing the doors these people have opened for us and the influence their work has on our daily lives.
About the Heineken Prizes
Over the past five decades, the Heineken Prizes have become an internationally renowned award. They are the most prestigious awards for art and science in the Netherlands. Every two years, five internationally renowned researchers and one artist living and working in the Netherlands are honored. They are all laureates whose work offers new perspectives, makes unexpected breakthroughs and opens new paths for others. Since 2010, the future generation has also been encouraged. Four promising young researchers working at Dutch research institutions receive the Heineken Young Scientists Awards.
The laureates are selected by juries composed of members of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), The Young Academy and international experts. The Heineken scientific prizes amount to $200,000 each. The artist receives 100,000 euros, half of which is intended for a publication and/or exhibition. The incentive prizes for young scientists amount to 10,000 euros each.
