De Wolven helps VastgoedPRO with PR around launch of architectural quality mark

15 March 2018

VastgoedPRO has joined forces with De Wolven for the communication surrounding the launch of quality mark Vakkundig Gekeurd. This professional organization for real estate professionals introduces the quality mark to guarantee the quality of construction inspection companies. The largest market parties have already signed up. In this way the sector wants to offer homebuyers more guarantees that they are buying a home without serious defects.

The Amsterdam-based PR and communications agency De Wolven supports VastgoedPRO in introducing Vakkundig Gekeurd among both real estate professionals and consumers. For De Wolven this project means a valuable expansion of its portfolio within the real estate sector. Rental housing platform Pararius, for example, has been a valued client since its inception.

Targeted cooperation
Rob Overduin, operational manager of VastgoedPRO: “We engaged De Wolven because of their broad knowledge of the media landscape and their substantive approach. We are looking forward to a goal-oriented cooperation in which we make the market aware of the importance of professionalization and let homebuyers realize how important it is to have an architectural inspection performed by an expert party.”

Leonne van de Ven, co-owner of De Wolven: “VastgoedPRO is a wonderful client for us and we endorse the usefulness of the quality mark Vakkundig Gekeurd, as the purchase of a house is one of the most important in a person’s life. The hallmark ensures that the current overheated housing market becomes more transparent and the buyer knows exactly where he or she stands.”

Need for inspection mark
The largest architectural inspection companies, Perfectkeur, Woningschouw, ADA Keur, Woningkeur and Keurhuis Nederland, have asked VastgoedPRO as an independent party to set up the inspection mark. Any contractor or carpenter may now inspect homes. There are no standardized testing criteria, nor a dispute or disciplinary committee. Current market developments require more regulation and quality control under a hallmark.

As of February 1, the architectural inspection is included as a standard resolutive condition in the 2018 model purchase contract. “A good thing,” says Roland Knoester, managing director of VastgoedPRO. “However, homebuyers must be able to rely on the inspection being carried out by a certified and impartial company. If this is not the case, defects such as cracks in walls and masonry, wood rot in window frames, poor painting, roof leaks and mold may go unnoticed. Or they are deliberately minimized in the architectural report. With all the financial consequences for the buyer.”

Tour
VastgoedPRO is currently holding information meetings around the country for interested structural inspectors. As of May 1, homebuyers must be able to have an inspection performed under the inspection mark Vakkundig Gekeurd.
