Circl encourages circular action with Just Start
Dozens of events at Circl to take concrete steps towards circularity
During the Week of Circular Economy, Circl is organizing a range of events on circular entrepreneurship from Monday, January 15 through Friday, January 19. The meet-ups at Circl this week are centered around the theme ‘Just Start’. Many entrepreneurs have circular ambitions, but how do you take the first concrete steps? Topics such as social design, new business models and sustainable communication are discussed and give entrepreneurs useful tools to get started.
Blue Monday Rave
The kick-off of the week takes place on Monday, January 15 from 06.00 to 08.30 hrs with a morning party to defy Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. During the Blue Monday Rave, yoga, DJs and live music, a skippy ball race, a laughter workshop and power breakfast are the ingredients to boost happiness hormones and face Blue Monday recharged. During the morning party, young professionals working for all kinds of organizations will come together to kick off the circular week energetically in Circl.
Just Start
Circl is this week’s hotspot for anyone who doesn’t just want to talk about the circular economy, but more importantly wants to get started. “The program features events aimed at activating large corporate companies, startups and individuals in a circular way. Whether you’ve been in the topic for years, or just heard of the concept. Wherever you are, just start” – says Merijn van de Bergh, director of Circl.
For example, on Tuesday, January 16, there will be the inspiration evening Social Meets Design about how design and social entrepreneurship together offer revolutionary solutions to the climate issue. Speed dates between designers, entrepreneurs and experts will take place on the spot. That same day, the third debate night (in a series of five) of NRC Live will take place: the power of circularity. Leaders will discuss the success factors, obstacles and opportunities of new business models.
Friday, January 19, is dedicated to the impact of circular building. During the Real Estate Forum session, scientists and entrepreneurs will discuss the usefulness and necessity of sustainable and circular building by housing corporations. This meeting will be followed by an interactive session where Urban Minders, the Sustainable Young 100 and Vastgoed Forum will enter into a dialogue about the real impact of circular building. Finally, entrepreneurs will learn to strike the right chord with communication during the inspiration session Circular Successes in Media. The week concludes with a New Year’s drink where everyone comes together; from real estate to design and from scientists to financiers.
