Enjoying green during We Make The City weekender @ Circl

19 June 2018

June 22 – 24: DJs, local market, workshops and sustainable fashion

This coming weekend (June 22nd – 24th) Circl, the circular hub in the Zuidas, will be transformed into a festival area and local market. There will also be inspiring workshops and lectures. On Friday night ROEF Festival starts on the roof terrace with the best DJs of DGTL. On Saturday you can shop for sustainable items at the Amsterdam Makers Market, join the Buurtbrunch XL – lunch with saved food, listen to André Kuipers talk about our planet or attend one of the other lectures such as ‘The Naked Revolution by Lush’. On Sunday you can learn all about sustainable fashion during workshops given by Bas Kosters and others, and you can buy second hand designer items during the Kloffie Markt. No reason to get bored this weekend! Check here for the full program.

Program We Make The City weekender @ Circl:

Friday: ROEF Festival @Cirl
During Amsterdam’s highest festival Circl brings fingerlicking vega food and especially danceable beats of DGTL’s finest. With artists like The Mauskovic Dance Band, Awanto 3 and Tim Hoeben, the roof will be off the greenest rooftop in the Zuidas. Drink a tasty Gin made from local leftovers or get a rain beer at the premiere: the Rainbar. Don’t forget your raincoat, because it could be raining beer…

17:00-18:30 Tim Hoeben
18:30-20:00 Tenzers
20:00-21:00 Mauskovic live
21:00-23:00 Awanto 3

Saturday: The Maker Market @Circl
Discover the finest locally produced and designed products at the Maker Market. From knitted bow ties to 3D printed jewelry: all Amsterdam Made products are designed with love for the earth. Throughout the day you can also attend lectures by innovative ecopreneurs and change-makers, from Lush to The Ketchup Project. Or take part in one of the workshops, such as New Kintsugi; transforming broken pottery into true works of art with gold glue. In between the businesses, you can join us for a delicious lunch of rescued food.

There is also entertainment for the kids all day long. None other than astronaut André Kuipers will tell about our planet, there are workshops such as making your own chocolate with Fawaka, and Ernst, Bobby and the rest will play the show “We want water”. A perfect Saturday afternoon for the whole family! See the full program on

The ceramic workshop and André Kuipers’ lecture cost €10, but children go free. Register via the website.

Sunday: We make M-ODE @Circl
Sunday is all about sustainable fashion. The fashion industry still has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to sustainability. Follow workshops and master classes by big names such as Bas Kosters and get inspired by sustainable brands and designers. They will all show you how to make and enjoy fashion in an innovative and sustainable way. In addition to the collections of sustainable labels, you can also buy vintage designer treasures at the Kloffie Market. View the full program at:
